Part 1 is a written exam that consists of 180 multiple-choice questions. Each question is made of two parts: a short scenario and the question itself. The students have to read the scenario and select the appropriate answer for the given question from the five options. A time period of three hours is allowed for the test. The scenarios and questions are based on the practices followed and medical equipment used in the UK, and they aim to test how well a person can take care of patients.
